LABOR FORCE & WAGE INFORMATION

The availability of a quality, trainable workforce with a strong work ethic makes the people of this area our most important and valuable resource. The recruiting area for Bradley County covers a 50-mile radius and includes Ashley, Bradley, Cleveland, Chicot, Drew, Lincoln and Desha counties. There are 99,682 persons residing with in the recruiting area. Arkansas is a right to work state.

POTENTIAL LABOR SUPPLY

In a June 2002 Labor Survey conducted by the University of Arkansas at Monticello School of Business six counties were surveyed with a total of 70,000 residents as of the 2000 census. The labor pool is approximately 35,300 persons in the civilian labor force in the 4th quarter of 2001. Skill areas include:

BRADLEY COUNTY WAGE & FRINGE BENEFITS SURVEY

In 2002 the Bradley County Industrial Development Corporation conducted a Wage and Benefits Survey. Five Bradley County Companies were selected as a representative sample of the area’s diverse industrial base. Through responses of four companies employing 80% of the area’s industrial-oriented workforce comprise the results of this survey.
